Privacy Policy
By Design: A Christian Dating Program
Effective date: 10/15/2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Changing Us LLC ("we," "us," "our"), which operates By Design: A Christian Dating Program (the "Program"), collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, your application, and the Program's services. By applying or enrolling, you agree to this Policy.
THE SHORT VERSION
1. Our application asks personal questions, including about your faith, relationships, family, finances, and history. We collect them only to run the Program.
2. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
3. We share information with another participant only after you approve what is shared.
4. You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information (Section 11).
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you give us.
Application and intake: name, age, city and state, email address, Christian testimony, interests, employment summary and goals, relationship dealbreakers and goals, alcohol and drug use history, and influencers you follow.
Surveys, classes, and coaching: your answers to the core needs survey, class activities, role-expectation exercises, and what you share in sessions.
Dates and introductions: feedback you give us about introductions and dates.
Payments: billing name and payment details. Our payment processor handles card and bank numbers, and we do not store full card numbers.
Identity verification: the name, date of birth, and photo on your government-issued ID, which we view live on video (Section 6).
Communications: emails, messages, and anything else you send us.
1.2 Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our providers may collect your device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, and similar usage data, using cookies and similar tools (Section 8).
1.3 Information from others. If we contact a reference you named, we collect what they tell us. Other participants or chaperones may report safety concerns to us.
2. Sensitive Information
Some of what we ask is sensitive, including information about your religious beliefs, relationship history, substance use, counseling history, and finances. We ask for it because the Program depends on honesty about these areas to assess fit, to teach and coach you, and to make careful introductions. You may decline to answer a question, but we may not be able to accept you or make introductions if we lack information we need. We do not use sensitive information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
review your application and decide whether the Program fits you;
verify your identity and eligibility, including that you are at least 18;
teach classes, provide coaching, and run the Mingle;
identify and arrange introductions, with your approval;
process payments, keep required records, and communicate with you about scheduling, billing, and your account;
protect the safety of participants, investigate reports, and enforce our Terms and Agreement;
improve the Program and our website; and
comply with the law.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as follows:
With other participants, with your approval. Before an introduction, we tell you what we plan to share, and we share only what you approve.
With chaperones, if you book one, limited to what is needed for the date.
With service providers that help us run the Program, such as video conferencing, scheduling, email, forms, website hosting, payment processing, and record keeping. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
For safety and legal reasons, where we believe disclosure is required or permitted by law, such as to respond to legal process, to prevent imminent serious harm to you or someone else, or to report abuse as the law requires.
In a business change, such as a sale or merger, if the new owner agrees to honor this Policy.
With your consent, for any other purpose you agree to.
Coaching and class conversations are not legally privileged, and we may disclose information in the situations above.
5. Other Participants
Class participants hear what others share in group sessions. Our Terms require participants to keep that information confidential and not to record sessions, but we cannot control what another person does with information you choose to share. Please share only what you are comfortable with. Once you and another participant exchange contact details, our Policy no longer governs what each of you does with them.
6. Identity Verification
We check your government-issued photo ID by eye during a live video session. We do not use facial-recognition or other biometric software, and we do not keep a copy of your ID after the check. We keep a note that verification was completed.
7. Session Recordings
We do not record classes, coaching sessions, or Meet the Matchmaker sessions.
8. Cookies and Analytics
Our website USES cookies and similar tools to keep it working and to understand how visitors use it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as well. We do not use cookies to show you advertising on other sites.
9. How Long We Keep Information
Signed Agreements and related records: for as long as the Agreement is in effect and for at least three (3) years afterward, as the law requires. Billing and tax records are kept as long as the law requires.
Application answers, survey responses, and coaching notes: 12 months after your participation ends, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Applications that did not lead to enrollment: 12 months.
Safety reports: as long as needed to protect participants and meet legal obligations.
Some information may be kept longer where the law requires or where needed to resolve a dispute.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, such as limiting access to those who need it and using secure, reputable providers. No system is completely secure. If a data breach affects your information, we will notify you and any required authorities as the law requires.
11. Your Choices and Rights
You may ask us to: see the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; delete your information; or stop using it for a purpose you previously allowed. Contact us at contactme@changingus.org. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within 45 days.
We may not be able to delete information we must keep by law (for example, records of a signed Agreement for three years), or information needed to resolve a safety report or dispute. If we cannot fully honor a request, we will tell you why. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy laws. We honor those rights where they apply to us.
12. Email and Other Messages
We send messages about your application, scheduling, and billing, which you need to receive. You can unsubscribe from program updates and other non-essential email at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us.
13. Age Requirement
The Program is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
14. Links to Other Sites
Our website and sessions may link to or use services run by others, such as Zoom and payment processors. Their own privacy policies apply to what they collect, and we encourage you to read them.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. The effective date above shows the latest version. If we make a material change to how we use or share sensitive information, we will tell you and, where the law requires, ask for your consent before applying the change to information we already hold.
