  • I am a licensed therapist, but the coaching I do is separate from my therapy services in order to make my services available outside of the state I live in and am licensed in. The benefit of coaching (vs. counseling) for you is that you won’t have to spend valuable session time giving a complete biopsychosocial history in order to be given a diagnosis (which is required for insurance billing). And since insurance companies require a diagnosis to pay for services, and I don’t spend time diagnosing as a coach (nor is a coach licensed to do so), I do not participate in insurance billing. With that said, everyone who has paid out of pocket for coaching with me has found it to be more-than-worth the cost.

  • There have been hundreds of people who have had a Breakthrough Session (see the countries represented below!), and they have received the clarity, guidance, or breakthrough they needed.

As one woman said: “I’ve been to pastors, mentors, and counselors, and Abigail was the first person who was able to see exactly what I needed.”

  • This is actually a common (and understandable) concern! You don’t know me, and it isn’t common for someone to be available through a website that you can talk to, so I completely understand if you are wary.

There is a lot of evidence to help you discern that what I do isn’t a scam: You’ve read the articles on my blog, which are written by me, so you know my style, my passion for God and His Word, and you are able to get a sense of my expertise. There are also many testimonials (see above) from people who have received coaching and have found that it made a significant difference in their lives.

I hope that reassures you! However, if you still aren’t sure but would like to schedule a Breakthrough Session, feel free to email me and ask how to do that without risking your payment, and I’ll make arrangements with you to provide peace of mind.

As a final bit of reassurance, this is one woman’s statement (and a commonly-given testimony): “I was hesitant to book the session, but I am so glad I did. Even though you didn’t know me, you were so right on, so direct, and spoke like you had known me for a long time - and the Lord really used you.”

  • I wish I could allow people to book a session without paying until the time of the session, but when I’ve done that in the past, people often book sessions that they don’t intend to be available for, and then that appointment slot is taken up and not used while there are other people who are wanting to get scheduled who would attend the session. This is the reason that I ask for payment at the time of booking. If this is a concern for you, and you’d like to schedule a session, feel free to email me, and I’ll work with you on other arrangements.

  • There are a few options to ensure that your spouse isn't alerted to the payment.

One is to purchase a Visa gift card for yourself and use the card to make the payment. That will avoid having it show up on any credit card bills.

Another option would be to have a family member or friend make the payment and you can pay them back for it.

Sometimes a person’s church will also gladly cover the cost of sessions to allow someone to get the godly guidance they need.

Also, there is an option to pay via PayPal, which means that you could set up your own PayPal account (if you don't already have one), and run the payment through there.

  • I sure do! I stand, utterly grateful, on the firm foundation that the only way to be saved from our imperfection and sin so that we can live forever with God in heaven is to rely on the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, who took our place to pay the penalty for our sins (Romans 3: 21-26). In rising from the dead, he gained victory over the curse of death (Romans 6:5-10), and ascended to the right hand of God (Acts 2:33-35), from where he promises to return for those who believe him (John 14:3) so that we can spend eternity with him in a New Heaven and New Earth (2 Peter 3:13). While we eagerly await his return, he has given us his Holy Spirit as a counselor to help us and teach us the truth (John 14).

Since we have the Holy Spirit and the Scriptures, which are the Word of God, we can know God, his character, and his will. 1 Corinthians 2: 11-16 says "no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.” And Hebrews 8:11 says, ”No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.”

We know him through his Word, and because Scripture interprets Scripture, I allow it to do that. There is no specific denominational affiliation that influences my approach to coaching or biblical interpretation, because I don’t follow Christians, I follow Christ so that “there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought” (1 Corinthians 1:10). To this end I have fellowship with (and doctrinal perspective from) believers from a variety of denominations including (but not limited to) Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, Pentecostal, Evangelical Free, Apostolic, and Non-denominational.

As we seek to know the Lord more, the Lord himself reveals who he is and what he has to say. And the approach I take on my website and in my coaching is to encourage everyone to be good “Bereans” and search Scripture for themselves, examining the Scriptures every day to see if what they are learning is true (Acts 17:11) .

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God (Philippians 1:9-11).
