These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and your application to our program. Changing Us DBA By Design ("we," "us," "our") operates the program. By using the website or submitting an application, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or apply.

1. About These Terms

1.1 Who may use the website. You must be at least 18 years old to apply or use the website. By applying you confirm that you are 18 or older and legally free to date (not currently married).

1.2 Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version. Changes do not affect a signed Agreement you already have with us.

1.3 Other documents. These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy [LINK] and, if you enroll, your signed Dating Referral Services Agreement and any state addendum (together, the "Agreement").

2. What We Offer

We offer a Christian matchmaking program for singles who want an alternative to dating apps. The program includes an application, a "Meet the Relationship Coaching" session, a core needs survey, a six-session program (group or private) or one-on-one coaching, introductions (the “Match”)or a gathering of program participants (the "Mingle"), ongoing coaching, and an optional chaperone for dates. The program is taught from a Christian perspective.

The program is educational and referral-based. It is not counseling, therapy, medical care, or legal advice, and coaching conversations are not legally privileged.

3. Expected Outcome and No Guarantees

The expected outcome of our program is (a) the maturity needed to date wisely and (b) exposure to other people who have also been educated in the same material. There is no guaranteed outcome of a date or a long-term relationship.

3.1 No guarantee. We do not promise or guarantee that you will receive an introduction, go on a date, be chosen by another participant, find a relationship, become engaged, or marry. We do not guarantee compatibility or that another participant will want to meet you.

3.2 Testimonials. Any story or testimonial on our website reflects one person's experience. Individual experiences vary. We do not publish success rates.

3.3 Size of the group. The number of participants available for introductions changes over time. We do not guarantee that a suitable participant will be available at any particular time.

4. Applying

4.1 Free and optional. Submitting an application costs nothing and does not obligate you to buy anything. An application is not an offer, and our acceptance of it is not a contract for paid services.

4.2 Be honest. The application asks about faith, relationship and family history, finances, substance use, personal history, and similar topics. You agree that your answers are true and complete. We may decline or end participation if we learn you gave false information.

4.3 Our decision. We decide in our discretion whether to accept an applicant. We will tell you if we do not.

4.4 Identity check. If accepted, we will verify your identity as described in the Agreement before introducing you to anyone.

5. Paid Services and Your Signed Agreement

5.1 The Agreement controls. Prices, payment timing, cancellation, refunds, and the terms of paid services are set out only in the Agreement. Any price on the website is for information and may change before you sign. We do not charge you for any paid service until you have signed the Agreement and received your copy.

5.2 Your right to cancel. Illinois and Wisconsin law give customers a right to cancel. If you enroll, you may cancel within the period stated in your Agreement and receive a refund of all monies paid. For Illinois customers, this is within three (3) business days after the first business day after you sign. For Wisconsin customers, it is until midnight of the 3rd day after you sign. The Agreement states the exact terms and how to give notice.

5.3 Other states. If you live outside Illinois or Wisconsin, your state's law may give you additional rights.

5.4 Conflicts. If these Terms and the Agreement conflict, the Agreement controls. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under the Illinois Dating Referral Services Act (815 ILCS 615), Wis. Stat. § 100.175, or other law that cannot be waived.

6. Your Information and Privacy

6.1 What we collect. We collect the information you give us in your application, survey, sessions, and communications, which may include sensitive information about your faith, relationships, family, finances, and personal history.

6.2 How we use it. We use it only to decide whether the program fits you, to teach and coach you, to arrange introductions, and to run our business. We do not sell your information. We share information with another participant only if you approve what is shared. We use service providers, such as video and payment processors, who must protect your information. We use reasonable security measures.

6.3 Exceptions. We may disclose information where the law requires or permits, including to prevent imminent serious harm to you or someone else.

6.4 More detail. Our Privacy Policy [LINK] explains how long we keep information, how to ask us to delete it, and your choices. If you enroll, the Agreement also describes how long we keep records.

7. Dating Safety and Verification

7.1 Meeting someone new carries risk. Our Agreement includes a Dating Safety Awareness Notification and our identity verification process. Please read them before you meet anyone.

7.2 We do not conduct criminal background screenings on our participants.

7.3 If you are in danger, call 911. To report a concern about a participant, contact us at contactme@changingus.org

8. Community Standards

If you take part in our program, you agree to be honest, to treat others with respect, to keep other participants' information and class discussions confidential, not to record sessions, not to share another participant's contact information without permission, and not to use the program to sell anything or recruit. We may remove a participant who violates these standards or who we reasonably believe poses a safety risk, as the Agreement describes.

9. Communications

9.1 Email. By giving us your email address, you agree that we may email you about your application, sessions, and account. We may also send you updates about the program. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us.

10. Our Materials

The website, program curriculum, handouts, surveys, recordings, and other materials belong to Changing Us or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. If you enroll, we give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use program materials for your own learning. You may not copy, record, share, resell, or post them without our written permission.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

Our website and program may link to or use services run by others, such as Zoom, scheduling tools, and payment processors. We do not control those services, and their own terms and privacy policies apply to them.

12. Disclaimers

The website is provided "as is" and "as available." We try to keep it accurate and running, but we do not promise it will be error-free or always available. Information on the website is general in nature and is not professional advice. We are not responsible for the actions of other participants outside our sessions.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website. This Section applies to the website only. It does not limit any right or remedy you have under the Agreement or under any law that cannot be limited, including the Illinois Dating Referral Services Act and Wis. Stat. § 100.175, and it does not limit our responsibility for our own negligence or misconduct.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of WI, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that the law of your state of residence applies where it gives you rights that cannot be waived. If you have a dispute, please contact us first at contactme@changingus.org so we can try to resolve it. Disputes under a signed Agreement are handled as that Agreement and its state addendum provide.

15. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a part of these Terms is not a waiver of it. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any signed Agreement are our entire understanding regarding your use of the website and program.
